How do I find out how much I need to back up?
Normally you should back up at least your 'Documents and Settings' folder. To find out how big it is use Windows Explorer, right-click on the folder and select 'Properties'.

How much does it cost?
Prices depend upon the volume of storage required – see the price list on this page for examples. For larger requirements please contact us for details.

How long does a backup take?
Backup times will depend upon the upload speed of your broadband connection. With ADSL these are typically 256KBits/s which equates to about 90Mbytes per hour, so your initial back-up could take several days. After this, however, only changes to files are uploaded so your bandwidth requirement will drop significantly.

How do I find out if all my files have been backed up?
If you query our server with the 'BackupQuery' program from the 'Start' menu and type in 'Usage' it will display the total size of files uploaded. This should match the total size of the folders you have selected to back up.

How do I retrieve a deleted file?
Retrieving files is really easy. If you delete a file by mistake, backed up copies will remain on our server indefinitely – subject to available space. Use the 'BackupQuery' tool to find the file, then use the 'get' command (see online help).

What happens if I have a catastrophic failure like a disk crash and lose everything?
If your PC gets stolen, damaged or lost you can recreate your data on a new PC. Just download the software – we will supply back-ups of your keys and you can use the 'restore' command to recreate the entire file structure of the data you lost. If you need help we are here to assist.
